Phonetics is the science interested in sounds and how they are organized and transmitted. It is the study of phonic substance and its function in spoken language.
Phonology studies the selection and organization of phonic substance into a given form or pattern. It also studies organization and functioning of sounds in a particular language. The changes of meaning that sounds can bring.
Phonetics is important because it helps people to improve their listening and speaking ability. It engages in effective communication. It makes you successful and gives security to speak in public. It helps you to be at ease in public situations.
IPA is the International Phonetic Association. It was founded in 1886 and devised a phonetic alphabet or a set of symbols that would serve to represent sounds in any language (in English too).
The English chart contains all the sounds (phonemes) used in the English language. It is used by English learners for transcriptions and it can help you a lot to understand pronunciation.
The IPA can be a very useful tool for improving pronunciation. Instead of relying on the teacher for the correct pronunciation, students can look up words and, with an understanding of IPA, decipher the correct pronunciation.
Here you can find some videos and a link that we hope that will help you.
